Spring breathes new life into the world around us, and flowers are definitely one of the best gifts of this wonderful season! From camellias to wisteria hysteria, here are the places where you can find your favourite flowers this season:
Brought by ship from China in the 18th century, exotic camellia plants were a luxury commodity. The Duke of Devonshire built a 300 foot glass house, now known as the Conservatory at the Chiswick House, to protect his collection of plants. There are currently 33 types of camellia in the conservatory so go give these flowers some love before the end of its season!
These astonishing star-shaped flowers are admired icons of spring and summer; pretty in pink, these petals beautify Kensington and Chelsea! Get a glimpse of magnolia trees in Chesson Road, Victoria Road and Earl's Court Gardens.
If you can't go to Amsterdam for the tulip season, Regent's Park showcases lovely fields of tulips that will help you beat your FOMO! Tulips aren't the only flowers you'll be seeing as you'll also definitely see roses in gardens! Boost their egos by gawping at them throughout April.
Did you know that the Royal Parks plant one million daffodil bulbs across their gardens each year?! The majority of these daffodils can be found at St. Jame's Park but you can also find them in Kensington Gardens, Victoria Embankment Gardens, of course, and Kew Gardens.
Carpets of bluebells start blooming from mid-April and are visited by crowds of tourists! If you head to Highgate Wood, you're in for a big floral surprise. If you head west, your best bet is Osterley Park, a picture perfect reason to visit Zone 4.
Some of London's most beautiful residences and parks are awash with the sweet smelling flower of wisteria hysteria and there’s not an Instagram account that’s not noting it! They kick in around now and goes on until June. One of the best places to spot the lilac-and-white hanging blossoms is the Peckham Rye Park!
